Your Skin - Advice From A Skin Therapist

Posted by Jerome Mendes on 26 July 2022

Face it. It's time to grow up and learn to know, treat, and protect your skin. We spoke to one of Dermalogica’s Skin Therapists Dennille Ludenau about the ins and outs of caring for your skin. In this blog, we talk about how to know, treat, and protect your skin.

Know your Skin

Knowing your unique skin type & concern as well as how it responds to different situations is the most crucial step in taking care of your skin.

There are four main skin types that you could be and that is Normal, Oily, Dry, or Combination Skin.

Normal

This is classified as a well-balanced healthy skin type that has even levels of moisture and hydration.

Oily

This is when your glands produce too much sebum, which can lead to a greasy surface, clogged pores, and acne.

Dry

This is when your glands produce too little sebum, which can lead to flaky, scaly, or rough patches on your face

Combination Skin

This can result in oiliness on the T-Zone (forehead, nose, and chin) and dry skin elsewhere.

"The main factor that determines your skin type is how much oil is or isn't produced by your skin"

- Dennille, Ludenau

Treat Your Skin

Oily Skin

"Active Clay Cleanser has clays and charcoal, which will purify the skin and help with regulating that oil. Active Moist contains lightweight botanicals that also do a great job of regulating oil flow."

- Dennille, Ludenau

Recommended Products:

Dermalogica Active Clay Cleanser 150ml

- Dermalogica Active Moist 100ml

Dry Skin

"If you have dry skin, then you are lacking oil. So, you want to use products that have oils or emollients in them to help put that oil back in the skin"

- Dennille, Ludenau

Recommended Products:

- Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Cleanser 295ml

- Dermalogica Super Rich Repair 100ml

- Dermalogica Melting Moisture Masque 50ml

- Dennille, Ludenau

Recommended Products:

- Dermalogica UltraCalming Cleanser 250ml

- Dermalogica Calm Water Gel 50ml

Protect Your Skin

Anti-Ageing

- Dennille, Ludenau

Recommended Products:

The Wrap
